Golfing “Fore” a Cause

For 11 years, Mary Ellen Lawrence has organized a golf tournament to benefit the Fragile Footprints Pediatric Palliative Program at BID-Plymouth. Co-chairs Geoff & Lindsay Wilkinson and Cate & Babe Adams have also become an integral part of this successful event, which is generously hosted each year by Indian Pond Country Club.

Earlier this month, golfers spent a sunny Sunday afternoon on the course before attending a cocktail reception at Blackstone’s, where they heard from Lauren Pimpare whose son benefits from the Fragile Footprints Program. Lauren described how the people of Fragile Footprints have improved the quality of life for her entire family. She emphasized how the Fragile Footprints team helps coordinate all services and activities and acts as a resource to identify and fill unmet needs for the Fragile Footprints families. She said, “They are a hug, a friendly face, and they have become like family.”

This year’s event raised $37,560 for this important Cranberry Hospice initiative, which provides much-needed services to children who suffer from life-threatening, progressive, or irreversible diseases and conditions.
